It can NEVER happen to me.

A friend who works for a major health insurance company despises Obamacare, obviously buying into the propaganda from her employers. She certain it’s an evil plot on the part of somebody which somehow will affect her badly.

She’s convinced it’s a government scam despite the fact that she works for a company that regularly denies coverage and benefits to people for whatever reason they desire. She’s positive unequivocally we are better off getting our insurance from a private company than a government run program.

However something’s happened that’s given her pause, and she’s reconsidering her position. She’s struggling trying to reconcile her stated beliefs in light of what she’s about to experience.

It begs the question, what would cause someone working for an insurance company to question how the system is built?

She IS as stupid as she looks.

I’ve been watching as Republicans wear their individual and collective stupidity as a badge of honor, supporting candidates who can barely spell their own names. Half-term Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska), Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota), Michael Steele, Chmn. of the RNC; the list goes on providing bountiful fodder for Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. I can’t imagine a better time in history to be a standup comedian, particularly if you’re of the liberal persuasion. However the level of idiocy is becoming frightening.

Believe it or not they have two of them in Nevada, where the bozo bonanza was won by Sharron Angle over Sue “chickens for checkups” Lowden. It’s getting to the point where you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting an moronic Republican. It begs the question, when did this brainless sweepstakes on the right begin, and can we declare a winner soon?
